Moving from Grief to Acceptance

When we are grieving you continue to compare what is NOT here in your present with what COULD be here, and what will NOT be there in your future with what that future COULD HAVE BEEN.

In order to move to acceptance, you need to build a near and continuing future, beginning with the present, made up of what will be there that will be satisfying, what you will be doing that will be satisfying, and how you will do it.  You will then be attending to one future, rather than comparing the two futures of “what will be” with “what could have been.”
